The current Worship
Associates Team is composed of 9 people who help shape the worship experience at
the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Monterey Peninsula. Each Worship Associate helps assist Rev. Greg with Sunday morning worship, working with him on conducting 6-10 services each year. Worship Associates may also assist when other speakers are in the pulpit, often requiring them to play a more directive role and helping plan and craft the service. Finally, a Worship Associate may also have opportunities to be Worship Leader where they would craft the central message (sermon) of the service and work with another Worship Associate supporting the liturgy. Together members of the Worship Associates Team meet monthly to share ideas for new services. With the minister, they plan upcoming service topics to fit our monthly themes, look for ways that worship can lift up and bring awareness to the aims of other ministries of the church (Children's and Adult Religious Education, Social Justice, Music, Membership, Pastoral Care, etc.) and support one another in presenting the highest quality worship possible. Worship Associates are a diverse group of women and men who are called upon to connect with those who identify with peoples of different ages, races, cultures, theologies, sexual identities and life experiences. They are thoughtful, creative, committed church members who deepen their own spiritual connection to the holy by crafting, presenting and sharing powerful ideas in worship. For more information about Worship at UUCMP or to explore becoming a Worship Associate, please contact Rev. Greg Ward or fill out an Application to become a Worship Associate. |
