Building Our Future

Our Vision

Kris and babyUUCMP envisions an expanded home—our home for generations to come, where we can realize our Mission Statement:

Welcoming all, we worship together with loving hearts and open minds,
promoting peace, equality, and respect for the Earth.
Questioning, reflecting, learning, leading . . .
we change ourselves as we change the world.

Phase II of our building program finished on schedule and on budget, with heartfelt thanks to our Architect/Builder/Contractor Safwat Malek of Enviro International, Inc. Our enlarged space embodies the spirit, values, and principles of UUCMP. As an intergenerational liberal religious community open to all, we value lifelong learning, freedom of belief, caring fellowship, spiritually meaningful services, and engaged social action. Our respect of the land continues, with a strong connection to nature on our spectacularly beautiful site.

The new rooms are full of natural light and fresh air. The project followed green building practices and our campus is sustainable, energy-efficient, and low maintenance—a model for the community. At the same time our buildings allow for flexibility and growth. As with our existing structure, the additions are simple but well done, aesthetically pleasing, and of a timeless quality—warm, inviting, and welcoming spaces. Most important, we have built a home that allows us to provide fully for the programs that are our reason for being. Our completed home include spaces for religious education programs that inspire curiosity and lifelong learning for both young people and adults. There is also space to nuture community and fellowship. It is a living space—not just on Sundays, but throughout the week—and will be an asset not only to our own congregation but also to the greater community.

As we enjoy our new expanded spaces, Phase III is part of our long-range plan. The enlarged Sanctuary, office, and meeting spaces are designed to meet the future needs of our growing membership! Watch us grow!
